I'm currently hooked on photography. I' was supposed to replace my good 'ol canon a630 for a dslr last December. unfortunately due to some budget constraint i wasnt able to do so... was supposed to buy a Nikon D40. But looking on the bright side there are cheaper alternative to my wishlist.

Instead of a DSLR i've been eyeing another Canon Powershot camera - either a Canon PowerShot S3IS or S5IS. Both cameras looks the same but differ in specs.

another one of my cheaper alternative is to buy a lomo camera. Lomo is one of the in thing right now in photography. almost everywhere i go i see lots of photo exhibits showcasing different lomo shots. Lomography is all about over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure and blurring. lomo pics are often called "happy accidents". Lomo cameras uses films. so this is an old school camera. a starter kit cost roughly around 4.5K

Im saving up for both camera so i could use it in my upcoming out of town trips . cant wait to own either one of them. need to tighten my belt for this one... no new shoes and bags for a few months! wish me luck!
